                            Pumpkin Seeds and Polly Seeds

                         The old horse waits

                         with head bowed

                         tied to a shabby wagon

                         a long sad face

                         with a gaunt nose

                         I remember the song

a penny for many a helping

                         pumpkin seeds and polly seeds

                         echoes linger

                         on the cobblestone streets

                         sound faintly in the distance

                         Then he is gone

like all our dreams are gone.
