A Little Humility Wouldn't Hurt
Do me a favor,
Spare me your judgments,
Save me from you holy pronouncements,
And give me some doubts, once in a while.
Tell me you're a little bit unsure,
A little maybe, now and then, would help.
But, please don't tell me you're positive, Even
God in His wisdom, was never really sure,
He stumbled and prayed and hoped,
And, Sometimes he failed.
But, when you proclaim, you cease to wonder,
And, when you cease to wonder,
Your unction starts showing.
So do me a favor,
Get out of your neighborhood,
It's going downhill anyway.
Try looking across the universe,
I know those light years keep intruding,
But be a fence sitter like me, And,
we can watch and wonder together.
