Who Cares?
A curtain of smog
descends upon the city
homeless litter the urban landscape
I am weary of the Black Hole
just off the coast of
children of famine
stare at me with their bloated bellies
I am tired of Rain Forests
and the dying of the land
the extinction of another species
leaves me cold
who cares about mammals of the sea
or the nets that trap them daily?
I am bored with celebrities
those who take drugs
those who don't
Insane smiles
leer through the Ozone Layer
a rumbling of the stomach
brings me back to life
junk food houses beckon
with their gargoyled pagodas
I dash to the nearest oasis
for my daily fix
